EVENT: Bringing a buzz to airport

A 55-year tradition is going strong in the north county. Over the weekend, the Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary Club held its annual Fly-In Breakfast.

Besides the traditional menu of pancakes, eggs and sausage, the event gives residents a chance to view some of those aircrafts they may have seen overhead. On Sunday, Starflight, a World War II plane and an impressive jet were on display as well as other aircraft.

For the Dunkirk airport, the crowd of more than 1,500 provides one of their busiest days. When the Athenex project is completed within the next year and the facility is up and running, we can only hope the north county site becomes busier — and a greater destination.
