CONGRESS Mitrano learning the landscape

District 23 for Congress in New York state is quite lengthy. It runs from Chautauqua County all the way to just outside of Binghamton along the Southern Tier and covers 11 counties.

It also has some political balance. Ithaca and Tompkins County almost always lean left while the western portion of the district is more right.

Candidate Tracy Mitrano, who is running again against incumbent Tom Reed for the seat, understands the different dynamic. As a resident of Penn Yan, and formerly of Ithaca, she took some time in recent months to learn about where we live by staying in the county for the last two months.

“With vibrant cities, picturesque towns and villages, abundant farmland, and five spectacular lakes, Chautauqua County offers a rich tapestry of all the things that make our district so special,” Mitrano wrote about her stay.

Besides learning the landscape, she had the opportunity to meet and greet many. That could be a benefit in the next Congressional vote in 2020.
