SUNDAY SHOUTOUT: Our impact from Athenex

Our non-profit community is certainly welcoming the addition of Athenex to Dunkirk and northern Chautauqua County. Last month, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation and the Athenex construction team partnered in the Divots for Dunkirk golf tournament that raised more than $65,000 for a number of organizations.

“All the subcontractors and suppliers supporting the Athenex construction project are pleased to be able to support the Dunkirk community,” said Lee Ogle, project director for Exyte USA, Inc. “Our goal is to provide a world-class facility, bringing new opportunities to the Dunkirk area, while allowing Athenex to develop and provide leading-edge oncology treatments.”

Some of the organizations benefiting from the event included: Lakeshore Humane Society, Camp Gross Foundation, Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County, Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County, the Dunkirk Senior Center, Chautauqua Adult Day Services in Dunkirk, St. Columban’s On the Lake, Revitalize Dunkirk, Historical Society of Dunkirk, Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels, Hispanics Organization for Progress and Education (HOPE), Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc., Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, The Chautauqua Center, and El Rigby Theater.

It was a great day for golf — and an even better day for the community.
