Democracy is a great concept until you see some of the results. Consider the last election of U.S. Rep. Chris Collins.
Despite the fact there were legitimate legal concerns surrounding his recent past and insider trading, voters knowingly went to the polls and elected a crook. There’s no other way around it.
Now, with Collins out and facing jail time, there is no current representation for the Congressional district. Voters get what they deserve.
