DUNKIRK Audit shows strides for agency

Questions regarding the finances of the Dunkirk Local Development Corp. have been put to rest — for now. According to the most recent audit, the agency finished in the black by more than $4,000.

The reason for this? A $25,000 grant and fund-raising for the festivals and summer events. Even Andrew Woloszyn, councilman at-large, who has been critical of the special events coordinator offered praise.

“I give Hector (Rosas) all the credit in the world for finding money to raise to run the festivals that we do,” Woloszyn said at Tuesday’s meeting. “My hats off to Hector and the fund-raising department.”

Those DLDC questions from council and Woloszyn have been warranted. But for now, the audit speaks for itself.
