ARKWRIGHT: New board drives point home

The OBSERVER’s View

Repair roads or build a new town hall? For those newly elected to this Town Board, they are leaning toward the first option.

Why? Probably because the three new faces ran as part of the Arkwright Advocates party. Their engagement in the election was in regard to the wind turbines that now populate the town hills.

While those structures will keep spinning, it appears fixing the bumpy surfaces will be the priority for this board. “Would I like to see a new town hall, yeah, but these people out here paying taxes for these roads and the shape that they’ve been in for the last 20 years or more, that’s ridiculous,” board member Chris Jackson stated at a meeting earlier this month.

Arkwright appears to be in the midst of a power struggle between the new board members — and the incumbents. Stay tuned.
