Flyover: Welcome sight in county skies
Tuesday afternoon brought some much needed anticipation. Roaring from above, the F-35s were part of a salute to health-care workers, first responders and high school seniors.
“It gave (people) something to do today,” said Randy Gleason, Ashville fire chief. “It is an amazing thing — it is a good thing and kind of for us.”
It provided for an amazing sight. Even in Dunkirk-Fredonia, the aircraft could be seen — and definitely heard — on the way to Chautauqua Lake and circling back to the base in Niagara Falls.
The diversion, after more than two months of dealing with the virus, was definitely appreciated.
