DUNKIRK Park music is best choice for city
The OBSERVER’s View
If Music on the Pier is going to happen this summer in Dunkirk, it will have to be in a different location. Last week, city Mayor Wilfred Rosas said options are being considered for different venues.
“We’re looking at possibly Memorial Park or Point Gratiot for the rest of Music on the Pier this summer,” Rosas said. “It’s too cramped of a setting and too hard to control social distancing having the concerts at the Pier this year.”
Dunkirk’s refurbished pier is a gem and destination. But with the COVID-19 concerns, it is not a good place to gather for a concert.
Last year, attendees enjoyed the atmosphere at the other locations without any concerns. They are both reasonable suggestions if the music does play again in August.
