Buffalo has two football teams it can be proud of at the present time. In first place in the AFC East, with plenty of accolades, is the Buffalo Bills.

But there is one team that does currently have a better record: the University of Buffalo Bulls. Following a romp over the Kent State Golden Flashes, the Bulls improved to 4-0. Most impressive was their running game.

Jaret Patterson rushed for a record 409 yards and eight touchdowns, an NCAA record for a single game, in the victory. While a limited number of people saw it in the stadium at UB, the game was nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.

If UB continues to run wild, they could be ranked. An article in The Buffalo News noted the team is close to breaking through in the Associated Press Top 25.
