Another way to find an appointment

One more way to register for the COVID-19 vaccine is not a bad thing. Earlier this week, the OBSERVER was alerted to a one-stop web site that helps Western New Yorkers find appointments.

Vaccine Hound was put together by the State University at Buffalo and is being supported by volunteers as a means to help residents in our region find appointments for COVID-19 vaccination. The site breaks down locations by county.

“We are getting concerned by the uptick in COVID cases and resistance to vaccination among certain demographics in our region,” said Todd Tranum, president and chief executive officer of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce. “This is a helpful resource for those who are inclined to set appointments online.”

Located at www.vaccinehound.org, this can end some of the frustration — and rush — that was associated with the early going of the rollout. Through Tuesday, about 37% of Chautauqua County residents had their first dose.

For our region to reopen safely, those numbers need to be higher. This web location is one way to find sites and times that best fit your lifestyle.
