BASEBALL: Major experience brings memories

A once-in-a-lifetime happening comes to an abrupt end on Wednesday. Before the pandemic, it would have been hard to imagine Major League Baseball in Buffalo.

This spring, many of our friends and neighbors took part in this unique event as the Toronto Blue Jays were forced to stay out of Canada due to its pandemic protocols. On Friday, the country announced the baseball team could return to the North to finish its schedule.

If you were one of the lucky ones to attend, it was definitely extraordinary. Great teams were showcased at Sahlen Field, including the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. Fans also got to see one of the most exciting and young teams in the game in the Blue Jays with All-Stars Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette.

Two games — today and Wednesday — with Boston complete the stay for the Jays. Then, it’s back to Toronto starting July 30.

We can all agree. The games were something special for this region.
