Team spirit gets things done
Applause for Hanover Town Board member Lou Pelletter. During a recent meeting this month, the elected official was hoping to not reinvent the wheel. Instead, he was looking for collaborations to make things happen.
One of those partners is obvious in the village of Silver Creek. In a town of under 7,000 residents, the village makes up about 2,700 of that total.
Pelletter understands that partnerships can help make things happen quicker. He said he’s talked to representatives from the village along with Kiwanis members, and there is a mutual interest in putting a splash pad somewhere within the village of Silver Creek. It would be similar to what is in the city of Dunkirk.
“We’ve been talking about it for two years,” he said. “I was hoping we could start a fund of whatever we have to do that, if the board agrees.”
Any effort like this requires cooperation, which always helps when it comes to grant requests — especially in this case and moving forward.
