Hanover: Official’s effort keeps all in loop

Applause for Hanover Town Board member Lou Pelletter for keeping lines of communication open between government entities. Last week, he attended the Silver Creek Village Board meeting to share the latest information regarding economic development plans for the town of more than 7,000 residents.

During his time, he mentioned two priorities. First, the still uncertain future for the former Lakeshore Hospital facility. Second, he mentioned an item that was once on the drawing board: a place for lodging near the lake.

“We have to have a hotel as an anchor for 5 and 20 and I think that might steer the rest of the area in, development wise,” he said.

With hopes growing for the Hideaway Bay development, many forget the need for a hotel that, located right off the Thruway, could be busy during the summer months when Sunset Bay is rocking. To the north, Buffalo has seen great changes on the lake. Why not here as well?
