Fredonia Praise for some ‘amazing hard work’

In the aftermath of one of the businesses worst days, Heenan’s Irish Pub posted this message to its Facebook page: “Thank you to the Fredonia, Dunkirk, East Dunkirk and Sheridan Fire Departments and the Fredonia Police Department for their quick response time and amazing hard work. You saved our business.”

As hundreds gathered around East Main and Eagle streets to watch on Monday afternoon, firefighters from the local departments calmly and collectively worked together to limit damage at the location. Fredonia Fire Chief Joshua Myers praised his staff and others when the fire was extinguished. It was an impressive sight, while unfortunate at the same time.

Heenan’s, which has been in business for more than three decades, is now faced with rebuilding. There’s no question, without the quick response by local departments, it could have been much worse.
