HANOVER Website gets needed update

After some criticism from a state organization in December, the town of Hanover has taken some action. Its website, which was cited by the New York Coalition for Open Government, is now up and working.

As of last week, the site offers information on meetings, minutes from previous meetings as well as other items vital to a transparent government. That change happened within two months after the coalition noted “agendas, documents and minutes are not posted online. Names and email addresses for the town clerk (Tim Crino) or town board are not provided on the website.”

Though the site is far from perfect, it is a vast upgrade from what was previously offered. Town Board members and Clerk Tim Crino can take a bow for the improvements.

Starting at $3.50/week.
