A Facebook post by the Dunkirk Festivals & Special Events on Labor Day put the capper on a wonderful summer. Included with the picture of staff members Ryan Hall, Scott Mekus and Evon Hernandez it notes, "Summer 2023 is a wrap. … We got out the blue marker to cross out our last event (Dunkirk Latino Lakefront Festival). It's been a fun but exhausting summer."
Unsurprisingly, many jumped on the comment section with their praise. "Great job."

"Wish the weather could have cooperated more."
"Dunkirk is a fun place."
One of the most memorable and well attended concerts this year was Yellow Brick Road -- A Tribute to Elton John. The concert was held in Memorial Park and received rave reviews. Other acts were just as special.
Dunkirk has a niche when it comes to summer. It was a job well done.
