UNITED WAY Campaign is key cog for community

Promoting partnerships has been one of the more recent missions of the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County. This effort — through dialogue and meetings — is important to the non-profits who are United Way member agencies.

But with anything, having sustainability is the most important part. Our area, especially with the recent issues facing Chautauqua County Rural Ministry and the now-closed WCA Home, are proof that when it comes to funding many non-profits are walking a fine line.

This year’s United Way campaign aims to help bolster these programs, but needs the help of those living here. With a theme of “Unite for a Stronger Community,” the forges strategic partnerships to mobilize donors’ resources to improve our community’s health, education, and financial stability.

“We want to set our volunteers up for success as they begin their workplace campaigns. We’re bringing back in-person presentations and offering impact tours of partner agencies so supporters can see their gift in action,” says Jody Falkner, executive director at United Way of Northern Chautauqua County.

This year’s goal is $250,000. Those wishing to donate — or run a campaign — should reach out to Falkner by calling 716-366-5424 or visit www.unitedwayncc.org

Starting at $3.50/week.
