ELECTION Tuesday is last chance to vote
Early voting for nine days at four locations across Chautauqua County came to a close on Sunday afternoon. On Tuesday, voters have their final chance to offer their choices in this year’s elections.
Most of the races are local. They involve Common Councils, mayors, trustees for towns and village boards as well as legislator races in the county. Some, unfortunately, are unchallenged while at least four others have mounted write-in campaigns across the region.
On Tuesday, polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
We urge residents to not only vote, but also do so knowing the candidates. Over the last week, our newspaper has offered its choices. They include:
≤ Dunkirk mayor – Kate Wdowiasz.
≤ Dunkirk council Ward One – Natalie Luczkowiak.
≤ Dunkirk council Ward Two – Abby Yerico.
≤ Dunkirk council Ward Three – Jack Pasquale.
≤ Dunkirk council at-large — Nick Weiser.
≤ Fredonia village mayor – Michael Ferguson.
≤ Fredonia village trustees – Ben Brauchler, Jon Espersen and Paul Wandel.
≤ County Legislator District One – Marcus Buchanan.
≤ County Legislator District Three – Bob Scudder
≤ State Proposition One – Yes.
≤ State Proposition Two – Yes.
≤ No endorsements – Dunkirk council Ward Four, County Legislator Districts Two and 19.
