RURAL MINISTRY Important items bolster agency
There have been two items of good news recently for the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry. Of greatest significance is its new Executive Director Bridget Majka.
As a dedicated employee — and important figure at the agency over the last decade — Majka has the background to lead this important nonprofit in our community, succeeding the late and legendary Kathleen Peterson.
“I’m very thankful and very excited about the opportunity,” Majka said. “Kathleen was a force. …She will be missed.”
Additionally, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation awarded the Rural Ministry $25,000 to bolster the organization’s general operating expenses during a challenging period. The grant aims to provide crucial support as the organization continues to face fiscal challenges.
“Unrestricted in nature, Community Funds offer maximum flexibility, allowing our knowledgeable Board of Directors to adapt quickly and direct the funds where they are most needed as we identify emerging needs and opportunities,” said Diane Hannum, NCCF’s executive director.
Rural Ministry has been helping so many in this community for decades. Both the appointment and grant will give the agency stronger footing for the future.
