Additional lake living — and recreation — appears to be a reality when the late spring rolls around. Developers of the Hideaway Bay Resort project, located in Silver Creek, have started taking reservations for June.

On its Facebook page, the resort said there will be a “soft opening” for the community in May, and hirings slated to begin in April, though inquiries for work this summer are already being accepted.

In another comment, it was stated the resort’s restaurant is supposed to open Memorial Day weekend.

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency provided incentives for the project and hosted a groundbreaking for the resort last June. Resort developers Kevin and Christian Cullen attended and Kevin called it “a beautiful, special site, it might be the most beautiful site on Lake Erie.”

Waters in our county are already a destination. Once the project is complete, Hideaway Bay will become another.
