OPERA HOUSE Unique insight into life in Ukraine
One area resident’s visit to the Ukraine is sure to be an eye-opener for many locally. Tonight at the Fredonia Opera House, village resident Patrick Stokes will give an illustrated lecture about his recent experience as a humanitarian aid volunteer in Ukraine.
According to the Opera House, Stokes spent five weeks traveling across Ukraine with Siobhan’s Trust, a Scottish-based nonprofit organization that provides food relief to Ukrainians in need across the entire country. With camera in hand, he documented his experience and will share what he gained in this special talk.
Stokes’ presentation will include a brief history of Ukraine, as well as a video and a few of the thousands of photographs he took while volunteering. Residents also will have the opportunity to donate to the charity helping those overseas who are living in the midst of a war with Russia.
Tonight’s event begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
