EDFF defeats Piede Tents LLC 18-14.

For EDFF, Ashlynn Delcamp bombed a grand slam and Aaliyah Morales, Marencia Bohn, Natalia DiPalma, and Anna Delcamp all contributed with hits. For Piede Tents LLC, Nevaeh Carter stroked a grand slam and double while Emma Yacklon and Brooke Szymczak added hits. Olivia Cole made the defensive play of the game with a great catch in center field and double play.

2nd Annual Pitching for Paws Co-Ed Softball Tournament set for July 28

Pitching for Paws is holding it’s 2nd Annual Pitching for Paws Co-Ed Softball Tournament on Saturday, July 28 in Dunkirk. Registration is $25 per player and team registration deadline is June 29. There is a 10 team limit, so register early to get in! The rescues will be joining us and bringing out some of their adoptable pets for you to meet. Proceeds will benefit Lakeshore Humane Society, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue and City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. Vineyards Golf Course Friday Night Adult Couples League begins this Friday

We will begin the couples league this Friday, June 8 with a 5 p.m. shotgun start. The format is a 9-hole, two-couple [4 golfers] scramble with a catered dinner by Mannings Catering to follow golf. There will also be prizes awarded after the dinner. You need to be signed up no later than today at 3 p.m. so that we have a count for the dinner. Annual Crouse 5K Challenge planned for Friday

The 19th Annual Crouse 5K Challenge will be held on Friday, June 8 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion, Legion Drive, in downtown Gowanda. A 1/2 mile fun run for children and a tot sprint will follow the 5K Challenge. Entry forms can be obtained by using the website: gtownfit.weebly.com or on facebook: GTownFit. Race director Jennifer M. Gernatt can be contacted for further information at 860-8782 or by email at JenniferGernatt@yahoo.com. The cost for the 5K is $20 on race day. The GCS Student Rate is $10 (no shirt) and the 1/2 Mile Fun is $5 pre-registration on race day. Shirts for the 5K challenge are guaranteed only for the FIRST 125 registered. Proceeds will benefit the GCS Dennis Crouse Sr., Scholarship Fund, and the Blue.By U Youth Track Club.

United Way’s Golf Classic June 15 at Tri-County

The United Way of Northern Chautauqua County invites you to its fifth annual Golf Classic, Friday, June 15, at Tri-County Country Club, 540 Route 39, Forestville. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost is $125 per person — includes 18 holes of golf, cart and greens fee, tee gift, lunch and dinner. All proceeds benefit the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County, 13 community partners, and impact over 24 programs.
