Big Fish Triathlon registration still open

MAYVILLE — Registration is still open for the sixth running of the Big Fish Triathlon that will be held at Mayville’s Lakeside Park on Saturday, June 16.

Over 130 participants are expected to swim, bike and run their way through scenic Mayville, Hartfield and Dewittville. You can register for the Little Fish sprint triathlon consisting of a 400 yard swim, 12 mile bike ride and a 5k run or the Olympic distance Big Fish event consisting of a .9 mile swim, 24 mile bike ride and a 10k run. Both events are USA Triathlon sanctioned.

The new venue offers a transition area close to the water, and the completely flat run course is on the newly paved path along the lake.

Proceeds from the event support the summer youth diabetic camp at Camp Onyahsa. This year’s event is being run in memory of triathlete Rosemary Billquist. A spirit award in Rosie’s honor will be awarded to an athlete who continues her legacy of kindness, compassion and fitness. You can find additional information and a link to race registration at bigfishtriathlon.com.
