Girls 4 Golf — The Girls 4 Golf Tuesday night league is playing at Tri-County Country Club in Forestville this year. First night of play was on May 29 with Nancy Phillips winning closest to pin on No. 3 and Nancy Phillips and Judith Mowery winning lowest combined scores. Low score for the evening was Nancy Phillips with a 50 followed by Kim Murphy with a 54. On June 5, closest to the pin on hole No. 3 was won by Kim Murphy with Debbie Yerico and Judy Mowery winning lowest combined scores. Low score for the evening was Judy Mowery with a 51 followed by Kim Murphy with a 57. On June 12, Kim Murphy won lowest putts and Nancy Phillips and Judith Waterman won lowest combined scores. Low score for the evening was Judy Mowery with a 51 followed by Kim Murphy with a 53.

DHS pool lists programs for summer 2018
The Dunkirk High School pool is proud to advertise the following programming for the summer 2018 session:
— Aquasize: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., July 9 – August 22. 14 sessions — $52 for whole session or $4 individually.
— Morning Swim: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 a.m., July 9 – August 22. 14 sessions — $26 for whole session or $2 individually.
— Evening Swim: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 -7 p.m. July 10 – August 23. 14 sessions — $26 for whole session or $2 individually.
— Deep Water Aquasize: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 -7 p.m., July 10 – August 23. 14 sessions — $52 for whole session or $4 individually.
— Family Open Swim: Monday through Friday, 3-4 p.m., July 9 – August 24. $2 per person per session. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Limited to 60 swimmers. No food or drink in the pool, balcony or locker room area allowed. Outside pool toys, athletic equipment, balls, noodles are prohibited
— Junior Swim Team: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., July 9 – August 22. 14 sessions — $52 for whole session or $4 individually.

Black Knight Hall of Fame golf tourney July 9
SILVER CREEK — The 2018 Black Knight Hall of Fame has been announced. Inductees are Dan Bradley, Chris Perry, Pete Stockunas, Paul Mangano and Larry Barreca Sr. (posthumously).
A golf tourney to support the program will be held on Monday, July 9 at Tri County Country Club at 11 a.m. If interested in playing, please contact Sean Helmer at shelmer@silvercreekschools.org.
Dragon Boat Race August 11 in Celoron
The dragons are back! The 2018 Dragon Boat Race Committee would like to announce that the third annual Chautauqua Lake Dragon Boat Race has been scheduled for August 11 at Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron. A pancake breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. with proceeds benefitting Meals on Wheels of Jamestown. Races begin at 9 a.m.
Originating in China 2,000 years ago, dragon boat racing is one the fastest growing water sports in the world. Races are held annually in Buffalo and the Finger Lakes region. This event continues to be the only one of its kind on Chautauqua Lake.
Dragon boat racing is team-driven as participants work in unison to propel a 31-foot-long canoe through a designated course. Ten or 20 paddlers power the boat with one drummer in the bow to motivate and keep the paddlers in sync, and a steer-person is provided in the stern to guide the boat. No experience is necessary. Prizes awarded for each division based on race times, plus new this year will be drummer awards for most interactive and best dressed drummer. Don’t miss the boat!

NorthLake Rec Center organizing pickleball games
NorthLake Family Recreation Center is offering an opportunity for organized pickleball gatherings for local novice and intermediate players on their pair of excellent outdoor courts at 38 Nichols Ave., Westfield.
Conveniently located near Routes 20, 394 and 5, as well as Interstate 90, NorthLake Family Recreation Center plays host to many outdoor activities and programs each year at its 16-acre facility which includes three regulation soccer fields, a regulation baseball/softball field, two sand volleyball courts, two pickleball courts, two regulation basketball courts, concession stand, kickwall and playground.
Interested pickleball enthusiasts are invited to call Venn Blakely by June 22 at 716-753-6290 to express interest and discuss scheduling. Program fee will be $40 per player for eight weeks of participation. Equipment is available for use at gatherings.
