Vineyards Monday Night Ladies League (June 25) — It was the first fun night of the 2018 season hosted by Charity Mucha and Carroll Nalepa. The league play was two-person scramble format. Winners of the evening were the team of Mimi Smith and Linda Kemp. 50/50 draw winner was Carroll Nalepa.

The league will play again on Monday, July 2, week 4 on the schedule.

Black Knights Hall of Fame golf tourney July 9

SILVER CREEK — The 2018 Black Knight Hall of Fame has been announced. Inductees are Dan Bradley, Chris Perry, Pete Stockunas, Paul Mangano and Larry Barreca Sr. (posthumously).

A golf tourney to support the program will be held on Monday, July 9 at Tri County Country Club at 11 a.m. If interested in playing, please contact Sean Helmer at shelmer@silvercreekschools.org.

Gym Rats Basketball Camp set for July 9-13

The Fredonia boys basketball program will be hosting its sixth annual Gym Rats Basketball Camp this July at the Wheelock Primary School Gym. The camp is for boys and girls ages 4-9 and will be held the week of July 9-13. The camp runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily.

Campers will participate in lead-up games, relay races and a lot of passing, dribbling, ball handling and shooting. All campers get a free T-shirt, basketball & daily snack. The cost for the camp is $75 or $115 for two family members.

DHS/CMHS/FHS Alumni Golf Tourney August 3

The DHS/CMHS/FHS Alumni Golf Tournament will take place Friday, August 3 at Shorewood Country Club with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The ninth annual tourney will benefit the Dunkirk-Fredonia Little League and Girls Softball programs. Honorary starters are Dunkirk Mayor Willie Rosas and Jack Shubert, Shorewood’s “pro emeritus.”

Registration in the grove next to the pro shop is 8:30 a.m. A group photo will be at 9:45 a.m. Cash bar 3 p.m., dinner 4:30 p.m. Trophy presentation, door prize and silent auction will be after dinner. There will also be a $500 hole in one contest sponsored by Mary Asher in memory of Tom Asher.

Cost is $80 per golfer and includes golf, cart, coffee and donuts, dinner buffet and dessert. Non-golfers can attend the dinner buffet for $27 per person. Email signup sheets to miami72@comcast.net. CHRIC Classic Golf Tourney planned for July 28

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation Improvement Corporation (CHRIC) will be holding its third annual CHRIC Classic Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 28 at the Chautauqua Golf Club, 4731 West Lake Road, Chautauqua.

Josh Freifeld, executive director of the CHRIC Board of Directors, invites the community to come join CHRIC for a day of golfing fun. Registration and lunch starts at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start on Lake Course. Entry fee is $100 a player or $400 a foursome which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, two drink tickets, appetizers, music, cocktails and dinner. For friends and family wishing to join in the dinner festivities, there is a $30 dinner only option.

Gowanda Recreation to host softball tourney

Gowanda Recreation will open their new Gateway Park softball field with a men’s slow pitch double elimination tournament and Home Run Derby Contest on Saturday, June 30. The first game begins at 11 am. Cash prizes and awards to the top teams plus complimentary gifts for each team. The entry fee is $100.
