Men’s Senior Baseball League

Pro-Bats Yankees 9,

Sunset Bay Inn and Beach Club Braves 3

The (5-1) Yankees tallied three first inning runs and four fifth inning runs, taking advantage of four Braves (3-2) miscues, to win a rain shortened, five inning game at Silver Creek High School. Joe Pantano (triple, double, two runs, RBI) led the Yanks bats, while Evan Carmello scored twice. Max Schrantz had a two-RBI single. Joe Polichetti, Tanner Delahoy and Joe Coughlin added RBIs of their own. Travis Small (single) scored twice for the Braves, while Cody Wicks (single) collected two runs batted in. Matt Eaker earned the win on the hill for the Bombers, with relief help from Pantano. Wicks and Andrew Tobias shared mound duties for the Braves, striking out seven Yankee batters. Schrantz turned in two sparkling plays at third base for the Yankees, to help thwart Braves rallies.

Wednesday Night Vineyards Golf League– Due to Mother Nature, play was postponed this week, and as Wednesday next week is the Fourth of July holiday, there will be no golf league then. The league will resume play on Wednesday, July 11.

Minor softball: Calios vs. Casalle

Ava Zahm was the top batter for Calios with four hits. Jenna Fryberger, Brianna Dougherty, Norrah Waterman and Katherine Proper also pounded out three hits each. Brennan Feeley led the way for Casalle with three hits while Colie Bundy, Chloe Artise and Jayla Lack each recorded two hits apiece.

Minor softball: Calios vs. Jess Your Style

Ava Zahm led Calios with four hits and a strong pitching performance. Bryleigh Wicks and Brianna Dougherty also recorded four hits each while Katherine Proper and Zoey Zahm added two hits each. Alyvia Remington was the top performer for Jess Your Style with three hits including a deep double. Paige Miller and Haylee Carlton also had three hits each while Nataleigh Fox and Adrianna Newell each added two.

Registration, sponsorships still open for CHRIC Classic Golf Tournament

Executive Director Josh Freifeld and the Board of Directors of Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation and Improvement Corporation (CHRIC) invite you to join CHRIC for a day of golfing and fun at the third annual CHRIC Classic Golf Tournament being held on Saturday, July 28 at the Chautauqua Golf Club, 4731 West Lake Road, Chautauqua. There is still time to register a team or to sponsor the event and be part of this great event. Everyone has a chance at winning four Buffalo Bills-Tennessee Titans game tickets for Oct. 7 at New Era Field in Orchard Park.

Registration and lunch starts at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start on the Lake Course. Entry fee is $100 a player or $400 a foursome, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, two drink tickets, appetizers, cocktails and dinner. For friends and family wishing to join in the dinner festivities, there is a $30 dinner only option. All proceeds go to helping low-moderate income families right here in Chautauqua County.

Pitching for Paws Co-Ed Softball Tournament registration deadline today

Pitching for Paws is holding its second annual Pitching for Paws Co-Ed Softball Tournament on Saturday, July 28 in Dunkirk. Registration is $25 per player and the team registration deadline is today. There is a 10 team limit. The rescues will be joining us and bringing out some of their adoptable pets for you to meet. Proceeds will benefit Lakeshore Humane Society, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue and City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.
