Low net: Rob Lancaster, net 28. Closest to the pin: No. 6, George Stresing. Skins: Matt Wallace (No. 3 – birdie) and Ron Martin, Jr. (No. 9 – eagle).

Tri County Country Club

Girls 4 Golf (June 19) — Low score for the night went to Judy Mowery with a 50. Bev Cross won the prize for having the most 6’s in her score and Sue Gotowka and Judy Mowery won for having the lowest combined score.

Girls 4 Golf (June 26) — Low score went to Nancy Phillips with a 58 and she also won for the lowest score on 3 blind holes. Low combined scores went to Debbie Yerico and Priscilla Penford. Golf was cancelled on July 3.

Youth golf

Vineyards Golf Course program starting

The Vineyards Golf Course junior golf program will run on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesdays from 9:30-11 a.m. The program will start on Friday, July 13 and run for six lessons. The program cost is $75 includes teaching the proper golf etiquette, the rules of golf along with basic form and fundamentals while having fun. There will be a scramble at the end of the six lessons with a party and prizes. Age group is 10-17 years old. Please call the course to sign up 672-7888. We also take private lesson for anyone interested for any age.

Youth softball

Minor Softball All-Stars

Westfield defeated Fredonia, 14-4, in the opening round of Minor All Star play in Westfield. Cassandra Cramer singled and scored Fredonia’s first run after a single and three stolen bases. Addison Paluch and Danielle Palisin had back-to-back doubles in Fredonia’s three-run fourth. Eva Gnadzinski earned the win on the mound with seven strikeouts in three innings.

DHS pool lists summer programming for 2018

The Dunkirk High School pool is proud to advertise the following programming for the summer 2018 session:

— Aquasize: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., July 9 – August 22. 14 sessions — $52 for whole session or $4 individually.

— Morning Swim: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 a.m., July 9 – August 22. 14 sessions — $26 for whole session or $2 individually.

— Evening Swim: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 -7 p.m. July 10 – August 23. 14 sessions — $26 for whole session or $2 individually.

— Deep Water Aquasize: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 -7 p.m., July 10 – August 23. 14 sessions — $52 for whole session or $4 individually.

— Family Open Swim: Monday through Friday, 3-4 p.m., July 9 – August 24. $2 per person per session. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Limited to 60 swimmers. No food or drink in the pool, balcony or locker room area allowed. Outside pool toys, athletic equipment, balls, noodles are prohibited

— Junior Swim Team: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., July 9 – August 22. 14 sessions — $52 for whole session or $4 individually.

DHS/CMHS/FHS alumni golf tourney August 3

The DHS/CMHS/FHS Alumni Golf Tournament will take place Friday, August 3 at Shorewood Country Club with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The ninth annual tourney will benefit the Dunkirk-Fredonia Little League and girls softball programs. Honorary starters are Dunkirk Mayor Willie Rosas and Jack Shubert, Shorewood’s “pro emeritus.”

Registration in the grove next to the pro shop is 8:30 a.m. A group photo will be at 9:45 a.m. Cash bar 3 p.m., dinner 4:30 p.m. Trophy presentation, door prize and silent auction will be after dinner. There will also be a $500 hole in one contest sponsored by Mary Asher in memory of Tom Asher.

Cost is $80 per golfer and includes golf, cart, coffee and donuts, dinner buffet and dessert. Non-golfers can attend the dinner buffet for $27 per person. Email signup sheets to miami72@comcast.net.
