Vineyards Golf Course

Friday Night Couples League — It was a beautiful night at the Vineyards for Friday Night Couples Golf. Scores ranged from 33-37. Closest to the pin on No. 3 was John Corbett. There will be golfing this Friday, Aug. 17. Please call the Vineyards at 672-7888 to sign up by Wednesday at 7 p.m. so that we have a count for the dinner. First FHS Cross Country practice is Monday

Fredonia High School’s first Cross Country team practice is August 13 at 6 p.m. at Tinman Hill. Please bring a full water bottle to practice. New runners always welcome. Running experience is not necessary. All runners must have a current physical on file with the nurse, the brown form turned into the office and a parent waiver signed and turned into the office by today. Randy Goss Memorial Golf Outing is Aug. 18

The 18th Randy Goss Memorial Golf Outing will be Saturday, Aug. 18 at The Vineyards Golf Course. This is a two-person scramble format. Tee off will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. All golfers are asked to be at the course at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per person, which gets you 18 exciting holes, cart, lunch, beer, pop, closest to the pins, CTPs on par 3s, skins and a BBQ dinner at Dom Polskis By FREDS Catering. This is a golf outing for all golfers, from experienced to the less experienced. To sign up call Jason Goss at 410-1538 or stop at the Vineyards course and Cheryle Goss at 366-1156.

Sunset Bay Experience set for Aug. 18

IRVING — On Saturday, Aug. 18, multiple events will take place as part of the Sunset Bay Experience.

A 5k run and walk will start at 9:30 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m. The cost is $25 the day of registration, with a student rate of $10.

After the 5k run/walk, guests are invited to enjoy a craft show, a live band, and food and drink specials. Several raffles will also take place during the event.

All proceeds will benefit the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company.

Final Tripp golf tournament planned for Aug. 25

The Tenth and Final Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament (GTMGT) plans are progressing and on the First Tee. The 2018 tournament is set for Aug. 25 at the Vineyards golf courses in Fredonia. Registration starts at 9 a.m. The shotgun start is at 10 a.m.

The registration fee of $65 per golfer includes food on the course and dinner at the Kosciuszko Club and a golfer’s gift. Contact Katie or Pat at 366-1044. Extra foursome forms and sponsor forms will be available at the K Club.

Monies raised from past tournaments have been used to establish an annual Gary Tripp Colorectal Cancer Research fund at Roswell Park, an annual GTMGT Dunkirk High School Scholarship and an annual donation to the GTMGT SUNY Fredonia Scholarship.

SUNY Fredonia kids’ hockey camp Aug. 27-30

The SUNY Fredonia Hockey Camp for boys and girls ages 5-12 will be held Aug. 27-30, 2018. It runs from Monday through Thursday from 10 to 11:15 a.m. in the Steele Hall Ice Arena. Al Tech Reunion Golf Tournament Sept. 8

Final plans have been made for the Al Tech Reunion Golf Tournament. The cost is $60, which includes 18 holes and cart at Cable Hollow Golf Course, food at the turn and dinner at Russell Joy Park Pavilion provided by Super Duper catering. $5 separate for skins and closest to the pin at the course. Send check payable to Rick Bellando, 24 Westerly Dr. Fredonia, NY 14063 no later than Aug. 31.

The event is Saturday, Sept. 8 at Cable Hollow. The first group tees off at 9:30 a.m. Registration is at 9 a.m.
