Vineyards Monday Night Ladies League (Aug. 27) — It was the third Fun Night of the 2018 season hosted by Beth Rich and Barb VanDette. The league play was bag your putter format. Winners of the evening were Denise Lundin and Lauren Kozlowski. 50/50 draw winner was Bina Loftus. The league will play again on Monday, Sept. 10, Week 11 on the schedule.

The Bella’s at Vineyards Women’s League (Aug. 29) — The game of the week “Jason’s picks” top four places were: 1. Debbie Mancuso, 2. Barb VanDette, 3. Sue Grace and 4. Diane Edgerton. Next league game will be played on Wednesday. Name draw at 9:30 a.m., tee-offs begin at 10 a.m. All skill levels are welcome, join anytime. Call the Vineyards Clubhouse at 672-7888 for more info.

Lucky Lanes Junior Bowling registration begins Saturday

Registration for the 2018-2019 season will be held on Sept. 1, Sept. 8, and Sept. 15 at Lucky Lanes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each of those three days. You may also register on evenings of Sept. 11, and Sept. 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. All new and returning bowlers must register. The registration fee is $10. Youth bowler ages range from 4 to 20 years old as of Aug. 1, 2018. Teams may be all boys, all girls, or mixed. Teams will consist of four bowlers. Leagues will start on Sept. 22. All bowlers from ages 6 to 20 will have their choice of bowling at either the 10 a.m. or the 1 p.m. shift each Saturday. Bowlers of ages 4 and 5 will participate in the Bumper Buddies league, which bowls at 1:15 p.m. on Saturdays. Visit bowlingisfun.org for more information or call Greg Haase at 785-3058.

Blue Devils hiring men’s basketball asst. coach

Fredonia State is currently accepting applications for a part-time men’s basketball assistant coach.

The assistant coach will report directly to the head coach and assist in all aspects of the program, including coaching, scheduling, recruiting, budgeting, fundraising, film breakdown and travel arrangements.

Qualified candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree and have collegiate playing experience, and must be willing and able to travel and work a flexible schedule; demonstrate a commitment to diversity and the needs of a diverse faculty, staff, students and university; and work in collaboration with colleagues for program growth and enhancement.

To apply, candidates should e-mail their resume, a cover letter and a list of three references with contact information to Head Men’s Basketball Coach Philip Seymore at seymore@fredonia.edu.

Fourth annual Community Hockey Game Sept. 7

On Friday, Sept. 7, Community Through Hockey will hold its 4th Annual Community Hockey Game at the Northwest Arena at 7 p.m. This year’s game will benefit 9-year old Kody Howard from Panama, who was diagnosed with a rare stomach cancer in February. Admission is free and will feature a basket raffle, large item raffle and 50/50. Since 2015, we have raised over $12,500 for area families and organizations. Erie Outlaws to hold baseball tryouts Sept. 8

The Erie Outlaws Youth Baseball Organization, located in Erie, Pa., will be having tryouts for boys 7-15U. Participants must have a birth date as of May 1, 2019. All players must register online at www.erieoutlaws.com. Tryouts will be held Sept. 8, Sept. 9 and Sept. 15. Any questions, please contact Scott Baldi at 814-882-5104. No player fee or registration fee to play.

Al Tech Reunion Golf Tourney to be held Sept. 8

Final plans are set for the Al Tech Reunion Golf Tournament. The cost is $60 which includes 18 holes and cart at Cable Hollow Golf Course, food at the turn, and dinner at Russell Joy Park Pavilion provided by Super Duper catering. $5 separate for skins and closest to the pin at the course. Send check payable to Rick Bellando, 24 Westerly Dr. Fredonia, NY 14063 no later than Friday.

On Sept. 8, at Cable Hollow, the first group tees off at 10 a.m. Registration at 9:30 a.m.
