The Bella’s Ladies League (Sept. 5) — The game of the week “In the Red Zone” top three places were: First Place Lori Danforth, Second Place Debbie Mancuso and Third Place tie Barb VanDette and Diane Edgerton. Next league game will be played on Wednesday, name draw at 9:30 a.m. while tee offs begin at 10 a.m. All skill levels are welcome, join anytime. Tri County Country Club

Girls 4 Golf League (Sept. 4) — Closest to the pin on the second shot on Hole No. 3 was won by Kim Murphy. Total lowest putts was won by Nancy Phillips. The league’s end of year banquet will be held at Tri County on Sept. 18 starting at 5:15 p.m.

Dunkirk Travel League

The family of the late Mary Ellen Benamati would like to sincerely thank the Dunkirk Travel Golf League for their generous contribution to the Mary Ellen Benamati Memorial Scholarship fund. The fund is administered by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.

This years scholarship of $500.00 was awarded to Ania Nichols, a 2018 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School.

Al Tech Reunion Golf Tournament is held today

Today is the day of the Al Tech Reunion Golf Tournament. The event includes 18 holes and cart at Cable Hollow Golf Course, food at the turn and dinner at Russell Joy Park Pavilion provided by Super Duper catering. $5 separate for skins and closest to the pin at the course.

Today at Cable Hollow, the first group tees off at 10 a.m. Registration at 9:30 a.m.

Erie Outlaws to hold baseball tryouts today

The Erie Outlaws Youth Baseball Organization, located in Erie, Pa., will be having tryouts for boys 7-15U. Participants must have a birth date as of May 1, 2019. Fredonia Basketball Clinic begins Tuesday

The Fredonia boys basketball program will be hosting open basketball “Drills & Skills Clinic” for all boys and girls who are residents of Fredonia in grades 1-8. There is no charge for the clinic.

The weekly clinic will take place on most Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. through September and October. The program will be held at the Wheelock School gymnasium. The first two session dates are Sept. 11 and 13.

Participants will focus on learning the game of basketball with an emphasis on skill development and game participation. Contact Greg Lauer at 912-2726 for more information.

Ragin’ Raisins Wrestling Club sign-ups set for Sept. 17-18

Ragin’ Raisins Wrestling Club will be holding sign-ups for this upcoming season from 6-7 p.m. on Sept. 17-18, held at the Mercyhurst University North East Wrestling Room. This club is for anyone in Pre-K (must be 4 years old) up to eighth grade.

Lucky Lanes Junior Bowling registration underway

Registration for the 2018-2019 season is underway! You can register in person on Saturday and on Sept. 15 at Lucky Lanes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. You may also register on evenings of Tuesday and Sept. 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. All new and returning bowlers must register. The registration fee is $10. Youth bowler ages range from 4 to 20 years old as of Aug. 1, 2018. Teams may be all boys, all girls, or mixed. Teams will consist of four bowlers. Leagues will start on Sept. 22. All bowlers from ages 6 to 20 will have their choice of bowling at either the 10 a.m. or the 1 p.m. shift each Saturday. Bowlers of ages 4 and 5 will participate in the Bumper Buddies league, which bowls at 1:15 p.m. on Saturdays. Visit bowlingisfun.org for more information or call Greg Haase at 785-3058.

Officials classes start Wednesday in Jamestown

Those interested in becoming certified to officiate High School boys and girls basketball, classes will start Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Jamestown High School in room 250. Classes will be held every Wednesday and will be taught by Roger MacTavishs. Any questions you can call Roger at 664-6339.
