Submitted Photo Chip White won his second consecutive Traditions Cup at Cassadaga Country Club. The two-day match play with handicap tournament was held Sept. 22-23. White scored a 4 and 3 victory over Dick Frost to secure the championship. The annual event provides the winner with a club membership for the next year. Todd Fenton claimed third place with a 2 and 1 win against Dave Kobel. Tim Wares won the consolation bracket with a 1-up victory over Tim Bulger.

Gowanda XC hosting pancake breakfast Sunday
GOWANDA — A pancake breakfast to support the Gowanda High School Panthers Cross Country teams will be held Sunday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Gowanda Moose, Aldrich Street, and the public is encouraged to attend. There will be a Chinese auction. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased from a cross country runner or at the door.
Classes for baseball umpires to begin Tuesday
The Chautauqua County Baseball Umpires Association will be holding classes for anyone interested in becoming a certified high school baseball umpire. Please contact Ray Lindquist at 450-2158 to register for the classes that will be held at Levant Wesleyan Church beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.
Classes are held at no cost for those interested in umpiring high school or youth baseball in Chautauqua County.
Chautauqua Tennis Club Open House Oct. 28
The Chautauqua Tennis Club will be hosting a New Member Open House on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 1-4 p.m. Come and join us for an afternoon of fun and refreshments. Learn about this well-kept secret where you can play tennis during the winter months right here in your own backyard. Members will be available to answer questions and membership forms will be available. Enjoy an entertaining junior and adult match and register for door prizes. The club is located at Floral Hall on the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds.
