The league held its 17th Annual Halloween Spooktacular, playing in the rain at Cassadaga Country Club. Bill Aldrich earned his first career tour victory, shooting the low round of 82. Bob Thompson finished a stroke behind with 83. Aldrich led the front nine with 43 and Thompson led the back nine with a 1-over par 36. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Gary Richardson.
Untied birdies were recorded by Richardson (Nos. 1, 3), John Tofil (No. 4), Mike Willoughby (No. 7), Aldrich (Nos. 9, 12), Thompson (Nos. 10, 16) and Mike Wolfe (No. 18). Closest to the pin were Wolfe (No. 6) and Aldrich (No. 15). Top point winners were Aldrich (15), Thompson (14), and Wolfe and Richardson (8 each).

NCSA elections held today at SUNY Fredonia
The Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association (NCSA) is excited for the upcoming soccer year, and we need YOUR help! NCSA is looking for highly motivated individuals who want to serve our soccer community on the Executive Board. Soccer background or prior experience is not necessary. We value new opinions and ideas for advancement. The success of NCSA is dependent on the commitment of its board members. NCSA will be holding elections for president, secretary, and one at-large position on Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at SUNY Fredonia, Fenton Hall, Room 127. Specific duties of each position and more information about NCSA is available at myncsa716.net.
Wolfpack Wrestling Club begins Tuesday
The Wolfpack Wrestling Club will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and is open to all kids ages 4 and up. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. in the elementary gym at the Fredonia High School. Registration will be $5 for the entire year and you can register at any practice. Elks Lodge to host Hoop Shoot Nov. 24
The annual Hoop Shoot sponsored by the Elks Lodge is scheduled for Nov. 24. It will be held at the Dunkirk High School auxiliary gym located by the pool.
Hoop Shoot is a free throw program for boys and girls ages 8 to 13 years old by April 1, 2019. Contestants must have birth certificates with them on the day of the program. Hoop Shoot will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at 12 p.m. or when the last contestant is finished.
Participants must wear gym shoes, t-shirt, and sweat pants or gym shorts. This is a free program and eligible students from all school districts are encouraged to participate. Registration is the morning of the Hoop Shoot. Please arrive early to avoid missing your age group for shooting.
