17th annual Peg Smith tourney starts today
The 17th Annual Peg Smith Memorial Basketball Tournament will take place at the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, 336 Washington Ave., Dunkirk today through Dec. 9. Use the Washington Avenue entrance. The schedule is as follows: Today, doors open at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, doors open at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, doors open at 9 a.m. There will also be a demonstration and skills session with Chautauqua Hurricane.
Sunday, Dec. 9, doors open 9 a.m. There will be a surprise visit Sunday afternoon by Saint Nicholas.
The event also features a huge basket raffle. There will be large raffle items including Buffalo Bills tickets 100 level; Andre Reed autographed photos; a Buffalo-themed sports basket and a grand prize raffle: Amazon Echo Show!
The Mighty Monarch Concession Stand will be open each day and offers “More than just your average snacks, for sale!” There will also be McDonald’s prizes. Proceeds benefit NCCS.
