Dunkirk baseball to host Comedy Night Saturday

The Dunkirk baseball team will be holding their annual Comedy Night on Saturday, March 9 at The Clarion Hotel at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar and a light menu available. Women’s Doubles bowling tourney scheduled

The Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association has scheduled its fourth annual Women’s Doubles Handicap Tournament, to be held at Chick’s Lanes in Angola. Shifts will be scheduled on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The tournament is certified through USBC and is open to all women who are members of the DLBA. Entry forms will be available at Chick’s Lanes, Lucky Lanes, K&L Lanes and Hanover Lanes. Lake Shore 3-on-3 basketball tourney Saturday

The Lake Shore High School Academy of Business and Finance will be sponsoring its annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday, March 9. The double elimination tournament will be held at the Lake Shore High School gymnasium, 959 Beach Road, Angola with staggered start times beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m.

Registration fees are $140 for 4-person adult teams, $100 for 4-person high school teams and $60 for 4-person youth (9-12 year old) and middle school teams. The registration fee includes an event jersey for each player. Brackets include Open Men, Open Women, High School Boys, High School Girls, Middle School Boys, Middle School Girls, Youth Boys and Youth Girls. Register online at www.lakeshorecsd.org.

The academy will also be hosting a chicken barbecue at the event — the cost is $10 per meal. Meals may be prepurchased — information is available with registration information on the district’s website listed above. Basket drawings will also be held. Northern Chautauqua Pickleball to host class

Northern Chautauqua Pickleball announces an introductory class on how to play pickleball. It will take place Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. at St. Anthony’s gym, 32 Moore Ave., Fredonia. Utility League is reorganizing to Tuesday nights

The former Monday Night Utility League at Hillview, of two years ago, is reorganizing. This year it will be at Hillview on Tuesday nights. Currently there are 18 former league members that have committed to this year. The league will continue with a treasurer, scorekeeper and food. There are openings for new members.
