Tuesday Night Men’s Golf League May 28

The Tuesday Night Men’s Golf League played on May 28 at Cassadaga Country Club in Cassadaga. Low scores were had by Mark Botticello (36), Tim Bulger (37), Fred Chamberlin (38), Scott Jagoda (38), Rod Lind (38), Matt Wallace (38), Steve Wintersteen (39), Don Cornell (40) and Ryan Miller (40).

The low net was had by Ryan Miller with a net of 28.

Closest to the pin hole was Don Meder on No. 15.

Skins were had by Scott Jagoda with a birdie on No. 10, Ron Martin Jr. with a birdie on No. 11, Greg Field with a birdie on No. 12, Rod Lind with a birdie on No. 15, Mark Botticello with a birdie on No. 16 and Jeff House with a birdie on No. 17.

NCCS ‘Putt-ing Children First’ Tourney is today

Northern Chautauqua Catholic School in Dunkirk is excited to announce its third annual “Putt-ing Children First” golf tournament will take place Friday, May 31 at Tri-County Country Club in Forestville. Registration opens at noon for the four person scramble, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

A catered lunch prior to tee-off will be included with the golf package. Dinner and live musical entertainment by “Pedro and the Smooth Cats,” which includes NCCS graduate Carmen Cita and NCCS English teacher Pete Howard, will follow the tournament. Refreshments will be available throughout the day and a cash bar will also be open into the afternoon and evening.

Area residents can help support Chautauqua County’s only remaining Catholic school by golfing or providing sponsorship. Tournament sponsoring is a great opportunity to promote a business and may be done in a number of ways. Participation and sponsorships will help raise the necessary funds to keep NCCS financially strong moving forward. 100 percent of the proceeds from “Putt-ing Children First” go directly to NCCS.

Monday Night Vineyards Utility Golf League

League play will begin this Monday with a 4:30 p.m. tee off on No. 1 until all league golfers have teed off. There is still room for more golfers and subs if interested. This is a handicap league. All golfers need to report to the log cabin building to sign in. Any questions feel free to call Bob Manning at 679-5799 or John Lakas at 679-6890.

Tuesday Don Cotton League has openings

Anyone who is looking to join the Don Cotton Tuesday Night Golf League at the Vineyards Golf course (back nine) please call the clubhouse at 672-7888.

Fredonia basketball camps announced

The Fredonia Central School Girls Basketball Camp will be held June 27-29 at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Fredonia Central School Boys Basketball Camp will be held July 1-3 at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to the construction project at the main campus, each camp will be for three days this year, instead of four days like years past.

Cost for each camp is $80 at the door, or $70 if paid by June 15. The camp is open to boys and girls entering grades 3 through 12. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

Each athlete is expected to arrive by 9 a.m. and are expected to bring their own lunch.
