Men’s Senior League

Pro-Bats Yankees 9, Stuart Tool & Die Athletics 6

The Yankee (3-0) bats came alive, as they pounded out 13 hits, en route to a comeback win over the (1-2) Athletics. Joe Polichetti (run, RBI), Matt Eaker (run, two RBI), Evan Carmello (run), Allan Carmello (two RBI), Weston Ley (two runs) all collected two hits in the win, while Rich Hofer had a key RBI single and BIlly Coughlin scored twice. The swingin’ A’s struck early, jumping out to a 3-0, behind the hitting of Shane Nusom (three hits), Brandon Shelters (two hits, two runs), Gib Stuart (two hits, two RBI) and Jimmy Quinn (two runs).

Both winning pitcher Eaker (2-0) and loser Zach Nykula pitch gutty complete games. Eaker allowed 10 hits, while walking five batters and striking out the same. Nykula walked seven and struck out three. A key Yankee defensive play in the bottom of the seventh by right fielder Ley, helped thwart a last inning A’s rally, as he threw out a runner at third base trying to go from first to third on a single.
