Low scores were had by Steve Wintersteen (37), Scott Johnson (38), Tom Gauronski (40), Mike Lancaster (40), Matt Wallace (40), Chip White (40), Fred Chamberlin (41), Dave Kobel ( 41), John Krudys (42) and Bob Warsitz (42).

Dave Kobel had the low net with a net of 31.

Bob Warsitz was closest to the pin on No. 15.

Skins were had by Scott Johnson with a birdie on No. 10, Andy Snyder with a birdie on No. 11 and Bob Warsitz with a birdie on No. 15.

Fredonia Blue Devils Soccer Camp, June 27 – July 1

The Fredonia Blue Devils Soccer Camp will be held at Fredonia State University, from Thursday, June 27 to Monday July 1.

The camp is for boys and girls ages 9-15.

Boys and girls ages 4-8 will be separated into the Junior Kickers Camp.

Payment information: The first option is for a half day for $125. The second option is for a full day at $165.

Family discounts will be offered at $15 dollars off per camper for two from the same family and $25 off per camper for three.

Pitching for Paws spaghetti dinner on Sunday

The third annual Pitching for Paws softball tournament, scheduled for Saturday, June 29, will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sunday, at the Silver Creek Fireman’s Club, from 1-5 p.m.

There will also be a Chinese Auction and raffles at the event. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children (10 & under) and take out will be available. Proceeds go to benefit Lakeshore Humane Society, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue, HEART Animal Rescue and Adoption Team and City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. Free Dunkirk H.S. sports physicals on June 27

The Dunkirk High School Athletic Department announces the date of Thursday, June 27 for free mandatory sports physicals at the DHS nurse’s office, starting at 8:30 a.m. All athletes are encouraged to attend. The free physical will be good for the whole school year, beginning in September. Parents can go online to the school website or stop by the school to pick up the required physical form prior to June 27.

All athletes need an updated physical prior to playing a fall sport, which begin Aug. 19. Any questions, call the DHS athletic office at ext. 2083.

Kiwanis Club Charity Golf Tourney set for June 28

On Friday, June 28, the Silver Creek Kiwanis Club is seeking participants for its 24th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. It will be held at Tri-County Country Club in Forestville. The day will include a continental breakfast, golf, lunch, appetizers and prizes. Check in is from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m., rain or shine. The format is a four-man scramble.

The Kiwanis Club supports children in the communities of Silver Creek, Forestville, Sheridan, Irving and the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation. Their work is funded solely through fundraisers and contributions. It is the goal of this club to continue to have a meaningful impact on our community’s children.

Entry fee is $110 ($95 if paid by June 21). Deadline to register is June 26. Numerous sponsorships, tee signage and raffle opportunities exist. Email your questions or interest to Gailmiller3@aol.com.

Gowanda Recreation registration set for July 1

Gowanda Recreation will hold registration for their six week summer youth program and the Blue By U track & field youth program on Monday, July 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at St. John Park. Children ages 6-14 can participate in the six week recreation program at no cost, except for optional field trips. Children ages 5-12 can take part in the four week track and field program. The fee for the track & field program is $15 per child. For more information regarding either program, call Recreation Director Mark Benton at 532-4053.

Vineyards Junior Golf Program Tuesdays in July

The Vineyards Junior Golf Program with Greg Catalono will be on Tuesdays in July, beginning July 2, through July 30, with one date on Friday, July 5. The cost is $75 for the five lessons and one tournament date. The time will be 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. If you wish to sign up or have questions, please call 672-7888 and ask for Jason.

Gowanda 16U softball tourney set for July 27

Gowanda Recreation will hold their annual 16U girls fast pitch softball tournament on Saturday, July 27 at Gateway Park. This is a four-team, round tournament with each team guaranteed three games. Pitching for Paws softball tourney set for June 29

Pitching for Paws is holding its third annual Pitching for Paws co-ed softball tournament on Saturday, June 29, at Wright Park in Dunkirk. Teams must consist of 10 players, with a minimum of three women. There is a 10 team limit, with registration at $25 per player. Organizers hope the rescues will be joining us and bringing out some of their adoptable pets for you to meet. New this year, the event has added vendors. Proceeds will benefit Lakeshore Humane Society, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue, HEART Animal Rescue and Adoption Team and City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.
