Results for the Cassadaga Country Club Monday Night Men’s Golf League played June 24:

Low scores were had by Steve Wintersteen 34, Dave Kobel 38, Matt Wallace 38, Brad Blizzard 39, Fred Chamberlin 39, Dave Pihl 39, Tim Bulger 40, Gary Higgs 41 and Adam Meyers 42.

Low net was by Dave Kobel with a net of 29.

Closest to the pin was Bill Lanski on No. 6.

Skins were had by Tim Bulger with a birdie on hole No. 1 and Frank Issler with a birdie on hole No. 2.

Free Dunkirk H.S. sports physicals today

The Dunkirk High School Athletic Department announces the date of Thursday, June 27 (today) for free mandatory sports physicals at the DHS nurse’s office, starting at 8:30 a.m. All athletes are encouraged to attend. The free physical will be good for the whole school year, beginning in September. Parents can go online to the school website or stop by the school to pick up the required physical form prior to June 27.

All athletes need an updated physical prior to playing a fall sport, which begin Aug. 19. Any questions, call the DHS athletic office at ext. 2083.

Fredonia girls basketball camp starts today, boys camp set for July 1-3

The Fredonia Central School Girls Basketball Camp will be held June 27-29 at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Fredonia Central School Boys Basketball Camp will be held July 1-3 at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to the construction project at the main campus, each camp will be for three days this year, instead of four days like years past.

Cost for each camp is $80 at the door. The camp is open to boys and girls entering grades 3 through 12. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt.

Each athlete is expected to arrive by 9 a.m. and are expected to bring their own lunch.

Kiwanis Club Charity Golf Tourney set for tomorrow

On Friday, June 28, the Silver Creek Kiwanis Club is seeking participants for its 24th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. It will be held at Tri-County Country Club in Forestville. The day will include a continental breakfast, golf, lunch, appetizers and prizes. Check in is from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m., rain or shine. The format is a four-man scramble.

The Kiwanis Club supports children in the communities of Silver Creek, Forestville, Sheridan, Irving and the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation. Their work is funded solely through fundraisers and contributions. It is the goal of this club to continue to have a meaningful impact on our community’s children.

Entry fee is $110 ($95 if paid by June 21). Deadline to register is June 26. Numerous sponsorships, tee signage and raffle opportunities exist. Email your questions or interest to Gailmiller3@aol.com.

Pitching for Paws softball tourney set is Saturday

Pitching for Paws is holding its third annual Pitching for Paws co-ed softball tournament this Saturday, June 29, at Wright Park in Dunkirk. Teams must consist of 10 players, with a minimum of three women. There is a 10 team limit, with registration at $25 per player. Organizers hope the rescues will be joining us and bringing out some of their adoptable pets for you to meet. New this year, the event has added vendors. Proceeds will benefit Lakeshore Humane Society, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue, HEART Animal Rescue and Adoption Team and City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. Gowanda’s Bee Fit Boot Camp registration open

GOWANDA — Get up, get out and get healthy at Bee Fit Boot Camp at Hillis Field on North Water Street in the village this summer. This series of evening outdoor group workouts, facilitated by the Community Education division of the Gowanda Central School District, is designed to fill your Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with a perfect blend of fun and fitness.

Brittney Olszewski will instruct you and fellow participants inspire you while innovative exercises transform you on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting July 8 and ending Aug. 21, 2019. (Dates: July 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29, 31; Aug. 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21.)

Class fee is $5 per session or $65 for all 20 sessions; $50 for 14 sessions or $30 for 7 sessions. Make checks payable to Gowanda Central School. Black Knight Hall of Fame golf tourney July 8

Silver Creek is hosting the Black Knight Hall of Fame golf tournament at Tri-County Country Club, in Forestville. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 8, beginning at 11 a.m. The cost is $80 for non-members or $60 for members. To register, contact Sean Helmer at (716) 572-3634.

Kickball tourney set July 21 for medical research

SILVER CREEK — The public is encouraged to participate in the 5th annual One Small Kick for Prader-Willi Syndrome kickball tournament scheduled Sunday, July 21, on the campus of the Silver Creek Central School District, 1 Dickinson St.

Prader-Willi is a rare and incurable genetic disorder characterized by intellectual disabilities and behavior problems, among numerous other symptoms. Tournament proceeds will support One Small Step for Prader-Willi Syndrome and international walks/events benefitting The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research.

The cost to register is $200 for teams of 8 to 12 players or $20 per player if signing up as an individual. Sign-ins start at 9 a.m. with games at 10 a.m. and an awards presentation at 12:30 p.m.
