Chautauqua Tennis Club New Member Open House Jan. 26
The Chautauqua Tennis Club will be hosting a New Member Open House on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 from 12:30-1 p.m. At 1 p.m. there will be an exhibition match. Come and join us for an afternoon of fun and refreshments. Learn about this well-kept secret where you can play tennis during the winter months right here in your own backyard. Members will be available to answer questions and membership forms will be available. The club is located at Floral Hall on the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. Softball umpires rules classes begin Jan. 29
The Chautauqua County Softball Umpires Association has announced the formation of a rules instruction class for anyone interested in umpiring high school softball games. Classes will be held at Cassadaga Valley Central School from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evenings beginning Jan. 29 for a period of five weeks. Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame nominations due Feb. 1
The 18th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame banquet is set for Saturday, March 28 at the Cattaraugus Firemen’s Club beginning at 6 p.m. The cost for tickets remains at $25 per person.
Nominations are now being sought for this year’s class of inductees. Candidates for induction must have a minimum of twenty years of combined experience as a high school, college or amateur all-star caliber athlete, youth, high school and/or college coach, game official and sports administrator. Nominees do not have to reside in Cattaraugus County but preference will be given those that have graduated from a Cattaraugus County high school.
