Chautauqua Tennis Club Open House is Sunday
The Chautauqua Tennis Club will be hosting a New Member Open House on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 from 12:30-1 p.m. At 1 p.m. there will be an exhibition match. Come and join us for an afternoon of fun and refreshments. Learn about this well-kept secret where you can play tennis during the winter months right here in your own backyard. Softball umpires rules classes begin Jan. 29
The Chautauqua County Softball Umpires Association has announced the formation of a rules instruction class for anyone interested in umpiring high school softball games. Classes will be held at Cassadaga Valley Central School from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evenings beginning Jan. 29 for a period of five weeks. The Relief Zone annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament rescheduled
FREWSBURG — The Relief Zone (TRZ) fundraising committee has announced that due to unforeseen circumstances, they will reschedule their annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to Sunday, Feb. 9 with brackets starting at noon. TRZ apologizes for the inconvenience.

Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame
nominations due Feb. 1
The 18th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame banquet is set for Saturday, March 28 at the Cattaraugus Firemen’s Club beginning at 6 p.m. The cost for tickets remains at $25 per person. Another sellout crowd is expected.
Nominations are now being sought for this year’s class of inductees. Candidates for induction must have a minimum of twenty years of combined experience as a high school, college or amateur all-star caliber athlete, youth, high school and/or college coach, game official and sports administrator. The committee is still looking for nominations from Portville, Ellicottville, Randolph, Salamanca, Hinsdale, Allegany-Limestone and West Valley.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 1. All nominations can be sent to Mark Benton, banquet chairman at hidibenton@gmail.com or call 532-4053.
Forestville alumni basketball game Feb. 1
There will be a Forestville High School alumni basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Forestville High School. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the boys game starting at 6 p.m. At halftime of the boys game, the girls will play half of a game. There will be a free-throw competition afterwards for all participants.
