Chicken BBQ fundraiser for Black Knights baseball

The Silver Creek-Forestville Baseball Boosters are hosting a Chicken BBQ to raise funds for the Silver Creek Forestville baseball teams on Sunday, April 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Firehouse on the Lake, Jackson Street, Silver Creek. A basket raffle & 50.50 are planned. Meal includes chicken, sides & dessert. Eat in or take out. A limited amount of tickets available; $10 presale or $11 at the door. Catt. County Sports HOF induction is March 28

The 18th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Saturday, March 28 at the Cattaraugus Firemen’s Club in Cattaraugus beginning at 6 p.m. This year class of inductees have been selected and include: Gary “Pizza” Peters (Gowanda), Chuck Howard (South Dayton), John Zalewski (Salamanca), Juliann Fair (Hinsdale), Matt Sanders (Cattaraugus-Little Valley), Allan Dunlap (Franklinville), Frank Asquith (Pioneer), Tammy Putt (Allegany-Limestone), Larry Welty (Portville) and William Aiello (Olean).

A limited number of tickets for the banquet at $25 apiece are available and can be reserved by calling Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email hidibenton@gmail.com. Another sellout crowd is expected.

Football official classes March 30 in Jamestown

The Southwestern Chapter of Certified Football Officials will be holding its new member classes starting on March 30. The classes will be held at the Ira Lou Spring Legion on Washington St., Jamestown. The classes start at 6 p.m. and end around 8 p.m. each week, for three weeks. If you are interested, call Dave Kolstee at 338-2803 or Keith Fish at 410-3508 if you have any questions. You will be able to officiate youth, modified, junior varstity and varsity high school football upon completion of the course.

Cabin Fever Reliever Tour scheduled for April 7

Buckwheat pancakes, ham, sausage, beverage, tip, time for shopping, and of course transportation, is all included in the price for a tour scheduled for Tuesday, April 7 to the famed Cartwrights’ Maple Tree Inn near Angelica, NY, and the quaint shops on Main Street Angelica.

The tour, offered by NorthLake Family Recreation Center in Westfield, will depart from Tractor Supply on Nichols Avenue in Westfield at 9 a.m. and return at approximately 5:30 p.m. The all-inclusive price for the tour is $48. Checks can me made out to NorthLake and sent to PO Box 334, Westfield, NY 14787 and must be received by April 3.
