WESTFIELD — The Pine Valley Lady Panthers (12-2, 2-2) jumped out to a 16-9 lead after the first quarter and managed to hold onto that lead en route to a 52-46 win over the Westfield Lady Wolverines (4-8, 1-3) Thursday in non-league girls basketball action.

Westfield answered by outscoring Pine Valley 19-11 in the second and 12-10 in the third, but the pivotal final period was won by Pine Valley, 13-6, to clinch the win.

Zoe Nelson led Pine Valley with 13 points and eight rebounds while Emily Raiport scored 10 in the win. Kayla Hohl added seven rebounds and three steals.

Sophia DeMarco led all scorers with 16 points to go with 11 rebounds, seven steals, five blocks and two assists. Susan Wolfe scored eight points in the loss.

Westfield will host Cassadaga Valley on Saturday.
