Fredonia, Olean split while Gators top Silver Creek

The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies girls track and field team defeated the Olean Lady Huskies, 87-4, in their meet Tuesday in Fredonia.

As they braved the high winds and rain, Fredonia was able to come a way with a handful of multiple winners.

Lydia Lanski won the 100-meter hurdles (17.3), the 400 hurdles (1:13) and the high jump at 4-feet-10 inches.

Emily Brown (Fredonia) took the 1,500 (5:44) and the 3,000 (12:03). Sydney Swan was another multiple winner, recording 1:07 in the 400 and 2:58 in the 800.

Georgie Gens won the triple jump (27-feet-2 inches) and the long jump (12-feet-8 inches).

Fredonia swept all the relay events for the day. The team of Brown, Anna Buchanon, Swan and Claire Stokes took the 4×8 at 11:59. The 4×100 was ran by Laural Erick, Fotini Landis, Gens and Andrianna Pucci (56.2). The 4×400 was won by Landis, Lanski, Swan and Brown at a time of 5:17.

Erick also won the 100 for Fredonia (12.7), while Diana Ludwig won the discus with a toss for 84-feet-7 inches.

Olean’s Kaniy Johnson won the 200 (30.4) and Malkayla Fults won the pole vault for the Huskies at five feet flat.

“The girls put in a good performance,” Fredonia coach Mike Marshall reflected. “There were about three or four triple performers and the wind got to over 40 mph. It got cold out there. The girls did a great job sticking out the weather.”

Fredonia will travel to the Falconer Invitational on Friday.

On the boys side, Olean pulled off a 76-65 win.

Multiple winners for olean consisted of Diego Rey and Cameron Kane. Rey won the 800 meter dash (2:16.8) and the 1600 (5:49.3). Kane took the 100 (11.7) and the 200 (24.2).

Fredonia won two out of the three relay events. The Hillbilles won the 400 relay thanks to Diyress Batten, Andrew Field, Nate Shaurt and Joel Colon at a time of 49.3 seconds. Alec Schrader, Josh Johnson, Mike Meredith and Rey took the 3200 relay scoring 11:57.3.

Joey Copella, Alex Jodush, Daunte Jeter and Kane won the 1600 relay for Olean.

In the field, Olean’s Nate Bradley won the discus (115-feet-8 inches), Derek Dandrea won the high jump (5-feet-4 inches), SheMar Turner claimed the long jump (16-feet-5 inches), Nick Decerbo had a triple jump of 34-feet-5 inches and Grant Fox won the pole vault jumping 8-feet flat.

Fredonia’s Shaurt won the shotput at a distance of 38 feet.

Boys: Allegany-Limestone 82, Silver Creek/Forestville 57

Girls: Allegany-Limestone 83, Silver Creek 52

Allegany-Limestone defeated Silver Creek/Forestville in boys track Tuesday 82-57.

Allegany-Limestone had two multiple winners: Michael Wolfgang won the 110 meter hurdles (16.3) and the high jump (5-feet-2 inches), Sam Filbert placed first in the 3200 (11:40.9) and the pole vault (6 feet).

Silver Creek/Forestville’s mulitple winner was Phil Narraway who won the 100 (12.7) and the 200 (25.2).

Both teams split the relay events. Brad Benton, Sam Filbert, Shane Lundquist and Liam Coulter won the 4×800 (10:09.8) for Allegany Limestone. For Silver Creek/Forestville, it was Billy Seiders, Cole Golembeski, Dylan Weber and Brad Yocham who won the 4×100 with a time of 50.3 seconds.

The Gators swept every event in the field Tuesday. Brenden Stover won the long jump (17-feet-2 and a half inches), Aaron Vandamme took the triple jump (33-feet-4 inches), Patrick Walsh won the shotput at six feet and Michael Nye won the discuss and threw for 125-feet-5 inches.

For the girls, the Allegany-Limestone Gators came out with a win over Silver Creek in girls track and field by a score of 82-57.

Multiple winners on the day were: Emma Seiders (Silver Creek) with the 100 meter (13.8), 200 (28.6) and 800 (2:34.5), Jaylah Cossin (Silver Creek) won the 1500 (5:23.1) and 3000 (11:56.6), Krystal Schwab (Silver Creek) won the 110 (18.1) and the 400 hurdles, Kelsey Wilber (Allegany-Limestone) won the shot put (26-feet-11 inches) and discus (81-feet-10 inches) and Grace DeCapau won the 400 (1:06.4), long Jump (13-feet-six inches) and triple jump (28-feet-5 and a half inches).

Silver Creek won two out of the three relay events. Seiders, Juliana Flick, Jaylah Cossin and Julia Kennedy took the 4×800, while Schwab, Grace Restivo, Kylie Procknal and Sam Laul won the 4×400 (4:56.7).

For the Gators, the team of Lexi Kinney, Maddi Lippert, Hannah Schifley and Molly Wolfgang won the 4×100 (57.4).

Allegany-Limestone swept the field events thanks to Kinney who won the pole vault (5-feet) and Mallory Voegelin in the high jump (4-feet-4 inches).
