SC alumni Williams, Brown drafted in NLL
Silver Creek alumni Zed Williams and Frank Brown were drafted in the National Lacrosse League Monday by the Georgia Swarm.
Williams, picked fourth overall by the Swarm, was drafted in Major League Lacrosse by the Rochester Rattlers, but had his season cut short due to injury. Brown, selected as the 24th overall pick, was also drafted by the Rattlers, but didn’t continue on with the team.
The Georgia Swarm won the 2017 NLL Championship and added a local high school phenom in Williams. The star multi-sport athlete dominated lacrosse and thrived in basketball and football. As a lacrosse Black Knight, Williams made history in scoring the nation’s most points ever with 729. At the time, the second-highest total was 589.
The Swarm’s season begins on Dec. 8 versus New England. Williams and Brown may play in Buffalo against the Bandits on Feb. 10 at KeyBank Center. The game starts at 7:30. The team will also travel to Toronto on March 3 and Rochester on March 10.
