Silver Creek’s Cossin places fourth at Evangola Experience

OBSERVER Staff Report

IRVING — The Silver Creek boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Evangola Experience at Evangola State Park in Irving and came through with some impressive finishes.

Jaylah Cossin led the Lady Black Knights finishing third overall with a time of 20:28.

“Very hot, humid event,” Silver Creek coach Mike Janisch said of the Experience. “… There were several kids who ended up going to the hospital because of the heat out there today. The fact that Jaylah came in third on a day like this was truly outstanding.”

In the boys race, Silver Creek place 22nd out of the 23 full teams that competed. Riley Wilson led way in 59th place (19:45) for the Black Knights. Wilson was followed by teammates Jon McDaneld (96th, 21:10), Brentan Pacifici (116th, 22:44), Ryan Rocque (127th, 23:39) and Sean Marchant (133rd, 24:28).
