DHS girls bowling team suffers first losses

Jamestown High School’s bowling teams had a successful day against Dunkirk at Lucky Lanes Wednesday, sweeping the boys’ competition and managing a split in the girls’ match against a previously undefeated Lady Marauders squad.

The Lady Red Raiders (13-7) scored 728-821-845-2,394 to Dunkirk’s 832-811-772-2,415, meaning the teams tied, 2-2. The Lady Marauders now have an 18-2 record.

Jamestown’s top bowler was Justice Edens, who bowled 193-224-180-597. Emily Ryberg scored 174-171-202-547 for the Lady Red Raiders, while Alexis Cowan rolled a 189 game and Kali Mason recorded a 176.

The top series for Dunkirk was by Rachel Glowniak, who carded a 182-193-161-536. Mariah Glowniak had a 170-181 for the Lady Marauders and was bowling well in her third game, but had to be taken out due to illness. Makayla Pasierb bowled a 180 for Dunkirk, while Hannah Ellman scored a 170 and Olivia Corbett put down a 168.

The linescores in the boys match read Jamestown 1,019-1,067-921-3,007 and Dunkirk 705-759-830-2,294. The Red Raiders are now 17-3 on the season while the Marauders fell to 11 1/2-8 1/2.

The top bowler among the boys was Jamestown’s Austin Aldrich with a 246-267-204-717. His teammate, Riley Piazza, scored 210-256-173-639, while the Raiders’ William Ploetz went for 177-183-221-581. Kyle Christensen bowled 229-168-160-557 for Jamestown while Zach Ryberg recorded 157-193-163-513 for the team.

Robert McEwan led Dunkirk’s bowlers with a score of 168-170-182-520. The Marauders’ Tristan Skelly bowled 156-177-169-502, while Trevor Skelly managed a 186 game.

FORESTVILLE 4-4, RANDOLPH 0-0

The Forestville Hornets teams swept Randolph Wednesday during high school bowling action at Lucky Lanes.

In the boys’ match, Forestville moved to 16-4 on the season as it scored 741-799-747-2,287 to the 712-718-650-2,080 of the Cardinals. Phil Narraway bowled 223-563 for the Hornets, while teammate Zack Barlette-Dye rolled 185-495. Tyler Rowley was Randolph’s best bowler with a 184-535, while Tristan Finch recored a score of 183-405.

The Lady Hornets bowlers are now 15-1 this season. They scored 624-601-667-1,892 to Randolph’s 520-576-462-1,558 in Wednesday’s match.

Ashley Forbes bowled a 204-547 for Forestville, while Tristan Olsen went for 210-540. Randolph’s top bowlers were Sarah Nieman with a 178-461 and Julie Mattson with a 168-408.

Forestville is now off until Jan. 5, when it plays at Frewsburg.

FREWSBURG 4-4,

CHAUTAUQUA LAKE 0-0

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg High School bowling teams swept Chautauqua Lake’s boys and girls squads Wednesday at Frewsburg Lanes.

In the boys’ match, the Bears scored 814-749-849-2,412 to the Thunderbirds’ 424-429-513-1,366. Frewsburg’s season record is now 19-1, while Chautauqua Lake is 0-16.

Josh Snow of Frewsburg had the top series among the boys, with a 191-174-194. Kris Snyder had the Thunderbirds’ high series with a 356.

The Frewsburg girls’ team moved to 10-6 by scoring 519-531-471-1,521 to Chautauqua Lake’s 413-411-382-1,206. The Lady Thunderbirds fell to 2-14 on the season.

Emily Zamborik had a 164-435 for the Bears, while teammate Bryanna Warner recorded 158-424. Cheyanne Wolcott recorded Chautauqua Lake’s top series with a 332.
