Forestville High School senior Brooke Ostrye signed her letter of intent to play Division III college volleyball at SUNY Fredonia on Thursday. She is pictured in the Forestville school library in between her father, Mark, and her mother, Becky. Standing above them, from left to right, are Dan Grande, the high school’s principal; Scott Hazelton, the Forestville athletic director; and Brianne Hazelton, the school counselor. Brooke Ostrye was the middle blocker on the Lady Hornets varsity team for four years but will be an outside hitter for Geoff Braun’s Blue Devils program. A National Honor Student who has taken college courses while in high school through SUNY Fredonia’s 3-1-3 program, Brooke plans to major in sports management. The winner of numerous All-Star awards in volleyball, she is also starting pitcher for the Lady Hornets softball team, which Brianne Hazelton coaches.
