FHS baseball wins again
FALCONER — The Fredonia Hillbillies stayed undefeated in CCAA West 1 high school baseball this season with a 7-2 defeat of Falconer on Tuesday, in a game shortened by bad weather to five innings
Fredonia (4-1, 4-0) got a complete-game pitching effort from Trey Swartz. He gave up just one earned run, three hits and three walks while striking out four batters.
“Trey started a little slowly on the mound, but then he found his groove and threw like he was capable of,” Fredonia head coach Vince Gullo said.
Seth Schrader had three hits, including a triple, and three stolen bases for the Hillbillies. Reid Tarnowski and Swartz each had a double, an RBI and a run scored for the team. Fredonia’s Anthony Gullo drove in two runs, one on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch.
For Falconer, Bobby Samuelson was the top batter, with two hits including a double and a run scored. Matt Gullotti took the loss on the mound, giving up five hits in four innings of work.
Fredonia has another CCAA West 1 game scheduled for today, at Chautauqua Lake.
