Fredonia tennis team beats Westfield, 5-0

WESTFIELD — The Fredonia Hillbillies tennis team defeated Westfield, 5-0, in a regular season high school tennis match on Thursday in Westfield.
Fredonia (2-0) did not lose a set in the match, never dropping more than two games in any of the five matches on the day. Dan Gifford highlighted Fredonia with a clean sweep of Olivia Clamp, 6-0, 6-0. Neil Genz only dropped one game against Marilynn Amborski, 6-1, 6-0, while Josh Thompson won 6-0, 6-2 over Isaac Caballero.
Fredonia’s doubles pairs each only dropped two games in their matches. Augusto Rodriguez and Jim Rush defeated Katie Bodenmiller and Cooper Harris 6-2, 6-0, while Trevor Napoli and Caleb Reynolds beat Christian Hammond and Grace Bodenmiller 6-0, 6-2.
Westfield (2-3) looks for a better showing in its next match, today against Maple Grove.
