Dunkirk native and Dunkirk High School graduate Wilfredo “El Bravo” Vega Flores signed a professional contract with Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing & Top Notch Promotions earlier this week. Vega Flores, who is 6-0 in his career as a boxer, flew out to meet Holyfield, the former four-time world heavyweight champion, to showcase his skills. After doing so, Holyfield presented him with the chance to sign professionally. Vega Flores previously told The OBSERVER his career goal was “to get signed to a big promotional contract,” and that he would “keep working the rings until I finally get that big break. That big break in life.” Holyfield offered “El Bravo” that break. Vega Flores expects to have his first fight this summer, in either June or July, likely in New York City.
